If you dream of an ocean-side wedding in Malibu, you will love Tati and Omeed’s wedding at Casa Di Pietra. Last year, I photographed their Valentine’s Day proposal and was so excited when they asked me to photograph their Spring wedding! Family is so important to this couple. Not only was their family there for the proposal, but it was important that everyone would be there on their wedding day. This couple actually had three weddings! The first one was just the two of them. The second wedding was a reception party. And finally, they had a wedding for all of their family and friends at Casa di Pietra!
A Wedding with Pacific Ocean Views
Every detail was a nod to their love of the ocean, and they picked the best venue to showcase this. Casa di Pietra is a hidden gem in Malibu and offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. It also has private beach access and four suites that can accommodate up to eight guests. It is perfect for couples looking for a private venue where people can stay on-site. Since there are two master suites, both Tati and Omeed got ready at the home. Tati got ready in a suite that overlooked the ocean, and Omeed got dressed with his groomsmen and the couple’s dog.
For their first look, we chose to use the beautiful staircase for some drama. Tati walked down the iron staircase as Omeed waited at the bottom. They were both so excited to see each other, and some of my favorite portraits are from their first look!
After their first look, we headed to their ceremony that took place overlooking the ocean. Colorful spring blooms lined the aisle, and their arch was covered in hundreds of roses, dahlias, garden roses, cosmos, and greenery. The couple wanted a colorful spring palette with lots of cream, blush, and pops of purple. The bridesmaids wore champagne gowns and held all blush garden rose bouquets. The flower girls wore matching dresses with the cutest baby’s breath flower crowns and matching garden rose bouquets.
A Reception at Casa di Pietra
After their ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour poolside while the space was flipped for a reception. Long tables were lined on the grass so that guests could enjoy the coastal sunset. Catalina Productions planned and designed the evening, making sure that every detail was taken care of. The sweetheart table was placed overlooking the pool, so they could enjoy seeing everyone celebrate. Each table was named after places they had been together, with pictures of the couple at each table. The pops of spring colors carried into the reception, with beautiful arrangements placed throughout.
When it was time to party, Tati changed into a fun reception dress covered in white beaded fringe. Everyone danced the night away as the ocean crashed behind them. It was the perfect wedding! I love being there to photograph weddings and celebrate with my couples. As you plan your wedding in Malibu or anywhere along the California Coast, reach out!
