Sammy’s 4th Birthday Party

Events

I photograph children’s birthday parties all the time, and each one is so special. But I have to share my nephew’s Birthday party, because it was one of the very best! The theme of the party was “sailing….the ocean….and little sailors….”

It was a blast putting the party together. I felt like I was back in 3rd grade! We made paper sailing hats for all the kids with their names on it. My nephews Sammy and Benjy helped me paint the photo booth and that was fun too but got very very messy!

If ever you need inspiration for a child’s birthday party or a dessert table, then definitely check out Amy Atlas’s blog at http://blog.amyatlas.com/2012/04/sailing-guest-dessert-feature/ or buy her book which is out today!

Big thank you goes out to Gwynn Wasson Design for working with and designing exactly what my sister Sabrina had in mind. Gwynn, you were absolutely wonderful to work with and your sense of style and creativity was amazing!

The delicious Brazilian treats called brigadeiros were made by Sabrina Pires Kahn (hrhsabrina@mac.com if you want some for your party!) and they were amazing. She made nearly 400 and I think they were all gone before the party was over! And the cake, my favorite cake ever, was by Susie Cakes.

You’ll find there isn’t a single picture of me, and that the family shot (the only one that I got of my nephews, my sister and my brother in law)
was a bit of a disaster only because it was at the end of the party, and well, you know how it goes with family.

I can’t wait for Benjy’s birthday in September!

Thank you!
