Rachel and Charlie had such a fun engagement party, and I’m so glad I got to photograph it! It took place at Rachel’s father’s house. Planning was done by Amazing Grace, an incredible wedding and event planner here in Los Angeles. Rachel’s father’s house was the perfect setting! Specifically, their house has a large backyard, which was tented with a clear tent. The tent had lots of cafe lights and candles, which was beautiful at night. Even though it was raining, the couple had so much fun!

They had a custom wooden bar made for the occasion, with they initials in lights! Guests were treated to lots of food, including appetizers and a full dessert bar! Their dessert bar had lots of chocolate, from chocolate bars to cake! Before the guests arrived, we made sure to get some bride and groom portraits. Rachel wore a hot pink dress, and looked gorgeous! Charlie looked dapper in a black suit. And I had to make sure I got a shot of Rachels unique engagement ring – it is a square sapphire!
When photographing events and wedding parties, I try and blend in with everyone, and capture intimate moments. This way you don’t just get portraits – you also get to see everyone enjoying themselves! It’s such an important time for everyone to get together, and celebrate the newly engaged!
