I absolutely love photographing surprise proposals! It’s such a special time, especially when the family is there to celebrate. Sam wanted to propose on Blacks Beach, in San Diego. Blacks Beach is a secluded section of beach beneath the bluffs of Torrey Pines on the Pacific Ocean. There are gorgeous views, and incredible surf – you’ll often see someone surfing no matter the time of year! While it can be a little difficult to get to, since you have to go down some steep cliffs, it is worth it!
Sam made sure to bring their pup along, so she could be part of the photos. After Sam popped the question (and Katy said yes!) their family came out of hiding to celebrate. Katy was so surprised to see them! They even had champagne to celebrate. After some family pictures, we got a few more portraits, so they could enjoy the moment, and remember it forever.
