I am so excited to share this intimate elopement with you! So many of my couples have had to change their wedding day plans this year – but April and Alex made the best out of their situation. Both work as mental-health providers, so they saw first-hand the impact the pandemic has had. Their original plan was for a May 2020 wedding, with a large guest count, and Alex’s 98-year-old grandfather who would be coming from Mexico. However, due to the pandemic, they realized it would be unsafe for them to hold their original wedding.
As April told us, “As heartbreaking as it was for both of us to make the decision to not have our wedding as planned, we knew that it would allow us to focus on the work that we do, give us a mental break, and provide the opportunity to preserve the health of all of our loved ones and would-be guests.” Sadly, April’s father passed from COVID-19 in mid-April. April entered a giveaway held by Yvonne Wolf Events – and won! I had the honor of being the photographer, along with an incredible team of vendors, all donating their time and services to this incredible couple.
Intimate Elopement in Los Angeles
The couple chose a color palette of rust, dusty pink, mauve, and green – and wanted a wedding that was natural and romantic. Yvonne took their vision – and made it come to life! Little Hill Floral Designs created the most stunning floral arrangements. Specifically, they paired roses, tulips, and hand-dyed pampas grass.
Since the wedding was intimate, with 4 guests, Archive Rentals provided comfortable seating for their family. Everyone in attendance wore handmade masks by Studio 90212, and all social distancing rules were strictly followed. April wore the most stunning gown! It was head to toe sequins, with long sleeves and a low back.
This wedding was recently featured on Inside Weddings – so make sure to check it out! Congratulations to April and Alejandro!
