When your Mom is a Real Housewife, you are sure to have the best Bat Mitzvah! Kyle Richards, and her husband Mauricio Umansky, worked with Nicole at Cobalt Events to create a Cirque du Soleil inspired celebration. Of course, everything was renamed in Portia’s honor – Cirque du Portia!
The day started with a traditional Bat Mitzvah at the families synagogue, where Portia read from the Torah and read a white kippah and a matching tallit. As Kyle posted on Instagram, “While studying for your bat mitzvah, you still pulled off straight A’s in school. Your speeches both in temple and at the party blew us away. I am the luckiest Mom in the world. I love you so much.”
Cirque du Soleil Inspired Bat Mitzvah
As the sun started to set, guests arrived at the family’s backyard for a perfectly designed affair! They were greeted with a larger-than-life custom sign, a gold elephant covered in orchids and roses, and a pool filled with gold balloons. Every single detail was incredible. Tall centerpieces by Petals LA were draped with red roses. The color palette of red and black continued throughout the evening, including the custom dance floor.
Throughout the event, there were endless activities for guests, from a Ferris wheel, tarot card table, acrobats, and a photo booth. Guests loved the dessert spread, which featured dozens of cookies, cakes, and of course, cotton candy.
The evening party was filled with family and friends, as well as fellow Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast members. And of course, Portia’s older sisters, Farrah, Alexia, and Sophia, were also on hand to celebrate.
One of the sweetest moments of the evening was Portia’s dance with her father. There was not a dry eye in the room! It was such a beautiful moment between these two, as they twirled to Lady Gaga’s cover of “La Vie En Rose”. Kyle was especially moved. Portia is their youngest, so it was especially meaningful. Congratulations, Portia!
