Winter Wedding at Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles

It may have been pouring on the day of Erika and Brandt’s winter wedding in usually sunny SoCal, but that didn’t stop us from capturing beautiful memories! This couple booked wedding photography at the last minute. While we were short on time to get acquainted, I could tell their love was sweet and genuine. Their Catholic faith is important to them, and the day began with a ceremony at the American Martyrs Church in Manhattan Beach. A memorable reception followed at the Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles.

Photographing an Indoor Winter Wedding

With a winter wedding, sometimes we have to get creative for portraits. But not to fear—that’s what I’m here for! Erika and Brandt decided to skip a first look, so I took their portraits separately before the wedding ceremony. Fortunately, Mother Nature cooperated with us then, and we grabbed some photos outside. After the ceremony, it was pouring, but we were still able to get some beautiful indoor portraits. The ballroom at the Trump National Golf Club is gorgeous, and it made the perfect wintery backdrop for photos of the newlyweds.

Erika and Brandt worked with Los Angeles wedding planner Say I Do to Details to plan and design their special day. They chose a navy blue and white palette with pops of metallic silver, pairing perfectly with the Grand Ballroom where they held their reception. I’ve had the honor of collaborating with Paola from SIDTD many times, and her work consistently exceeds expectations! We worked together on this moody and boho-chic Culver Hotel wedding and this tropical-themed luxury baby shower. Many talented wedding professionals work in SoCal, but SIDTD is one of the best.
