Sunset Proposal at Terranea Resort

Britney and John’s proposal at Terranea Resort was every bride’s dream! John popped the question at sunset, overlooking the scenic bluffs and sparkling Pacific Ocean. Meanwhile, I hid nearby, ready to capture the big moment! Afterward, we explored a few locations on the Resort’s spectacular property for the couple’s engagement session.

Terranea is a luxury oceanfront resort in Rancho Palos Verdes featuring breathtaking vistas. Not surprisingly, it’s also a popular wedding venue! Its outdoor ceremony spaces are particularly well-known. The Ocean Lawn and Catalina Point boast incredible views of the Pacific, while The Meadows is an intimate location tucked away in the bluff.

John enlisted the help of Britney’s sister and best friend to plan his proposal. They knew Terranea Resort would be the perfect location! They disguised the moment as a weekend getaway and chose a gorgeous spot with panoramic ocean views. Naturally, Britney was over the moon when John surprised her by getting on one knee!

To make the moment even more meaningful, John proposed on February 23rd, 2024, a date with special significance for the couple. Back in high school, they each played basketball. She was number two, and he was number 24!

We shot the proposal on the walking trail that winds through Terranea Resort’s property and overlooks the bluffs. Afterward, we explored the resort grounds. The lush gardens and Spanish-inspired architecture made beautiful backdrops! I especially loved the contrast of all the handmade tiles. We finished the photoshoot at sunset, then joined Britney’s sister and friend to celebrate!
