Surprise Proposal at Terranea Resort

This proposal at Terranea Resort was picture-perfect in every way. You may recall this stunning venue from Britney and John’s proposal blog! I couldn’t wait to return there after Jeremy booked me to capture his surprise proposal to Ana. I’m so glad I was there to preserve the heartfelt moment, which we followed with an engagement session that took us all over the Terranea property. Ana is Brazilian like me, so we had lots to talk about!

Proposal and Engagement Session at Terranea Resort

Terranea Resort boasts a breathtaking oceanfront location and attractive, Mediterranean-inspired architecture, so I enjoy exploring various locations whenever I shoot there. Jeremy proposed steps from the venue’s Ocean Lawn, amid panoramic views of the Pacific and the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Ana said yes! Then, I popped out from my hiding place, and we began shooting their engagement session. It was golden hour, so the sun was in the perfect location to give the couple’s beaming faces an ethereal glow.

We continued our session on the tiled stairs outside one of the resort’s beautiful guest villas. This is one of my favorite shooting locations at Terranea because the images look like we took them in Europe! The salmon and tan-colored tiles made a gorgeous contrast with Ana’s patterned black-and-white mini dress and Jeremy’s blue button-down shirt.

Finally, we headed down one of the resort’s winding stone pathways to the beach. The sun was on the verge of setting, and the sky turned a dreamy pastel color as the couple cuddled up steps from the crashing waves. I also grabbed a few close-up shots of Ana’s ring, which featured a round-cut diamond set into a twisted white gold band.
