Stunning Outdoor Wedding Venues in Los Angeles

Weddings

As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I’ve explored nearly every scenic overlook, secret garden, and sun-soaked coastal hideaway the city has to offer. And when it comes to outdoor wedding venues in Los Angeles, the variety is truly unmatched. Whether you’re dreaming of a garden ceremony under century-old trees, a cliffside vow exchange above the Pacific, or a vibrant modern soirée tucked into the heart of the city, Los Angeles delivers. Here are a few of my favorite outdoor wedding venues, each offering its own distinct backdrop for a celebration that’s both personal and picturesque!

Casa Di Pietra – Malibu

Tucked away on a private Malibu cliffside, Casa Di Pietra feels like a Mediterranean retreat just outside the city. With panoramic views of the ocean, a rooftop patio, infinity pool, lush gardens, and private beach access, it’s a dream for couples looking to host an intimate, high-end weekend. The four-suite layout (including two master suites) means you and your VIPs can stay on-site. This kind of indoor-outdoor layout is ideal for relaxed portraits and golden hour coverage. It’s one of Malibu’s best-kept secrets for a reason.

Stone Mountain Estate – Malibu

Stone Mountain Estate sits high in the Santa Monica Mountains and feels like a slice of Tuscany. From the cypress-lined driveway to the helipad ceremony site with panoramic 360-degree views, every inch of this property is cinematic. The koi ponds, fireplaces, and old-world textures give it a European feel, while the privacy makes it a serene setting for an unforgettable day.

Adamson House Museum – Malibu

A historic estate rich in Spanish and Moorish details, The Adamson House is a visual dream for couples who love architecture and heritage. While you can’t host events inside, the outdoor lawns – especially the one overlooking the ocean – offer stunning ceremony and reception settings. Picture cafe lights overhead, crashing waves in the distance, and soft ocean breezes carrying laughter into the night. For couples who love a sense of story and timelessness in their venue, this one checks every box.

Hotel Bel-Air – Bel-Air

Romantic and refined, Hotel Bel-Air offers a tucked-away oasis in the hills. The Swan Lake area, complete with its iconic 100-year-old sycamore and yes, real swans, is a dreamy ceremony spot. Their front lawn under cafe lights creates an elegant garden ambiance, while the Garden Ballroom offers an indoor-outdoor experience for those who want the best of both. I’ve photographed events here that felt like stepping into a classic film, with just the right amount of glamour.

Terranea Resort – Palos Verdes

For couples who want coastal views without the chaos of Malibu traffic, Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes is a breathtaking alternative. From Catalina Point to the Ocean Lawn and The Meadows, the variety of outdoor ceremony locations here is unmatched. I especially love the tiled stairs near the guest villas. Every image looks like it could’ve been taken in Europe. Whether you’re going full glam or keeping it coastal and chic, Terranea has a space to match.

The Fig House – Highland Park

A favorite for couples who lean into bold design and vibrant personality. The Fig House blends mid-century modern architecture with lush garden spaces and a creative, colorful vibe. Think custom velvet lounges, French doors opening into the garden, and art-deco details that make every corner photo-worthy. It’s perfect for couples who want something a little different—but still impeccably styled.

Jonathan Club – Downtown Los Angeles

Historic and sophisticated, the Jonathan Club offers a unique blend of urban elegance and old-world charm. While it’s known for its interiors, the outdoor terrace adds a garden feel that softens the city skyline. For couples who want a downtown celebration with luxurious finishes, five-star service, and a one-of-a-kind guest experience, this members-only club delivers. As a photographer, the hand-carved woodwork and chandeliers make the reception glow with elegance.
