Bianca & Uver’s Story: A Long-Distance Love Comes Full Circle
Bianca and Uver have been together for just over a year. The two are both in medical school but met while in the Bahamas! The two were at the same church and have been together ever since. With Bianca in New York and Uver in South Dakota, they don’t get to see each other often, but their connection is strong.
Uver wanted to propose somewhere that felt like home to her, so he chose the beach, her happy place, and one that held special memories from growing up in LA. Point Dume gave us the most magical setting. Soaring bluffs, golden light, and views stretching all the way to Santa Monica. He chose to propose their one-year anniversary on February 15th. And to top it all off? His parents flew in from South Dakota to surprise Bianca and be there to celebrate!
My Favorite Spots in South Bay Los Angeles for Proposals and Engagements
As a Los Angeles proposal photographer, I’ve scouted the best spots for capturing these once-in-a-lifetime moments. If you’re planning a surprise proposal or a laid-back engagement session, these are a few South Bay locations I always love recommending:
Point Vicente Lighthouse
This is a great spot if you are looking for ocean views and beautiful sunsets. It features a two-mile coastal trail, dog-friendly paths, and plenty of quiet corners for a picnic or surprise moment. Bonus: there’s actual parking (which we all know is rare in LA)! During certain months, you might even spot migrating whales in the distance. This spot is relaxed, naturally beautiful, and incredibly versatile.
Terranea Resort
If you’re envisioning something a little more luxurious, Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes is breathtaking. With dramatic cliffs, ocean views in every direction, and beautifully landscaped trails, this is hands-down one of the dreamiest places to propose in SoCal. It’s also a popular wedding venue, so if you’re thinking ahead, it’s a stunning place to say I do, too.

South Coast Botanic Garden
A total hidden gem! If your partner loves nature and flowers, this 87-acre botanical garden is peaceful, colorful, and full of charm. From butterfly gardens to blooming rose pathways and even a small lake, it feels like a mini escape in the middle of the city. A photo permit and reservation are required, but I’ll help walk you through the whole process.
