Connor planned this picturesque proposal at Zuma Beach to surprise his girlfriend, Christine. Knowing he wanted photos of the big moment, he hired me to document it. I was hidden in plain sight when he popped the question and was able to capture Christine’s ecstatic reaction! The joy of a proposal is contagious—the more of these sessions I photograph, the more I find they’re one of my favorite parts of my job.
Surprise Proposal at Zuma Beach
Zuma Beach in Malibu is a large public beach with wide sandy areas and pristine turquoise water. In other words, it’s the perfect spot for a proposal! I loved that Connor chose this location because the size of the beach made it easy for me to blend in and capture the surprise. It’s also one of the most beautiful beaches in the Los Angeles area, especially during golden hour!
The couple wore outfits with blue and white tones that blended perfectly with the coastal setting. Connor chose a blue linen button-down shirt, which he paired with lightweight ivory pants. Meanwhile, Christine looked gorgeous in a turquoise midi dress with white netting detail and stylish cutouts! Matching turquoise statement earrings completed her look.
