As a Los Angeles Mitzvah photographer, I’ve had the privilege of capturing many Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations. I love to help parents document this special day! There are a few must-have photos you don’t want to miss on the occasion, and you may even want to consider a separate pre-Mitzvah shoot for your child. Discover all the essential moments you’ll want to capture, plus, enjoy the highlights from Ethan’s rock n’ roll-themed Bar Mitzvah at the Garland Hotel!
Rock n’ Roll Themed Bar Mitzvah at the Garland Hotel
Ethan’s rock n’ roll-themed Bar Mitzvah celebrated his passion for music! To design and plan the day, they hired Nicole at Cobalt Events. Nicole and her team took Ethan’s passion for music and guitar and created an incredible party where no detail was overlooked! I have worked with Cobalt Events many times over the years, and I love how closely she works with each client to create an innovative, trendsetting, and custom experience. It’s no surprise that she has done events for some of Hollywood’s biggest stars, including Kyle Richards and Lisa Rinna of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The celebration at the Garland Hotel was chock-full of details that reflected the theme, from the guitar pick escort cards to custom “rocktails” at the band logo-covered bar. The tables, named after famous rock bands instead of numbers, even featured acrylic guitar centerpieces.
In addition, Ethan got to show off his guitar-playing skills during the day! After dancing with his guests, he played a duet with his grandpa onstage. It was such a sweet moment that showed where Ethan’s talent and passion for music came from. I’m so glad I was there to capture everything, from the service earlier in the day at Temple Judea to the final dance of the party.
Must-Have Photos at Your Los Angeles Mitzvah
I always recommend parents choose an all-day photography package for their child’s Los Angeles Mitzvah. That’s because your child’s big day is chock-full of special moments you’ll want to document! From family portraits to the carefully chosen party décor, you’ll be grateful to have photos to look back on in the coming years. These are the must-have photos to get at your child’s Mitzvah.
Pre-Mitzvah Portraits
Ethan’s parents opted to get professional photos of him even before the big day. Since they knew the day of the Bar Mitzvah would be busy, they didn’t want Ethan’s portraits to be an afterthought. So, they booked a Mitzvah pre-shoot with me!
See Ethan’s Mitzvah Pre Shoot
There are many benefits of booking a Mitzvah pre-shoot aside from time constraints. For one, it offers an opportunity to show off your child’s passions. Ethan brought his guitar to his session! Moreover, it helps to get out those pre-Mitzvah jitters so your child can simply relax and enjoy themselves on the big day. Contact me to book a Mitzvah pre-shoot for your child!
Family Portraits
Of course, portraits of your family are a must on your child’s Mitzvah day! Their Mitzvah is a significant milestone for them and your whole family, so enjoy dressing up and getting some up-to-date photos together. When I shoot Mitzvahs, we usually schedule these portraits right before or after the service. That way, we can gather every family member necessary for the portraits since they’ll already be present for the service.
Torah Reading
Most Mitzvah days begin with a trip to the synagogue, where your child has the opportunity to read the Torah for the first time. As an experienced Mitzvah photographer, I’m well-versed in synagogue photography and understand the nuances and sacredness of this portion of the day and the Mitzvah service. I often snap some pre-service photos before it starts so I can get images of the family members, Torah, tefillin, and Haftarah. Over the years, I’ve worked in many Los Angeles synagogues, including Temple Judea, Sephardic Temple Tifereth Israel, Kehillat Israel in Pacific Palisades, and more!
Décor
You’ve worked hard to plan your child’s perfect day, so it only makes sense to capture it! When I shoot Mitzvahs, I document all the décor, including the party favors, cake, lighting, and other items specifically made for the big day. I know how meaningful these elements are, especially the ones that tie into your child’s hobbies. All the special touches go into making the day great, and your child will love looking back on them in the coming years!
The Horah and Party
I won’t just photograph your child’s Mitzvah service or family portraits. I’ll also come along to the party afterward! It’s so important to capture this part of the day that is truly unique to your child. I’ll be there all night, documenting the details and the events. I especially like taking large group photos so you and your child can remember the friends and family members who came to celebrate with you.
If your child’s Los Angeles Mitzvah is coming up, I would love to help your family celebrate by documenting all these must-have photos from the day! Contact me with the details of your event, and we’ll schedule a discovery call. I can’t wait to hear your plans for this milestone in your child’s life!
