Lindsay and Kyle had such a sweet backyard wedding at a family property in Santa Monica! You might remember this cute couple from their Venice Beach engagement session! Due to Covid-19, their original wedding plans were put on hold. So, they decided to have an intimate wedding as soon as they could get their marriage certificate – and I’m so glad I was there to capture their sweet day! They are still planning a big wedding for all of their loved ones later this year, but it was so special to photograph their intimate wedding. This year has been hard on so many of my couples – many have had to postpone their wedding. But, I have been working hard to help them reschedule, and even shoot more intimate weddings, like this one!
The wedding day was all about family, and personal touches. Lindsay’s mom did the flowers herself! I love the pop of color with the king protea and bird of paradise. And the eucalyptus smelled so wonderful! The groom had a fun matching boutonnière, which popped against his blue suit. And Lindsay wore a beautiful lace dress for her backyard wedding. It had a beautiful halter top neckline and a fun slit. Lace, lots of detail, and a stunning train. And it went perfect with her braided up-do!
Backyard Wedding in Santa Monica
There are so many beautiful pieces of jewelry that a bride gets to wear on her wedding day. And oftentimes, they have a lot of meaning behind them! These are pieces the bride will always cherish and remember. Lindsay chose a few pieces for her wedding day, including a silver and pearl bracelet, and a gold necklace.
One of the most special moments was the bride and dad’s first look. Lindsay and her father just lit up when they saw each other – and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room! Lindsay’s dad was just so happy, and was so emotional seeing her in her wedding dress. No matter the size of your wedding, from an elopement, to a huge affair, I always recommend doing a first look with your dad!
