There’s something really special about a wedding that focuses purely on connection, joy, and shared experience. Kadie and Frank’s intimate backyard wedding in Hollywood did exactly that, with just twelve of their closest people. They created a day that felt deeply personal, beautifully styled, and filled with intention from beginning to end.
They met during COVID, where their relationship took root with intention. From our very first phone call, Kadie was open, kind, and trusting, and she told me she knew she wanted to work with me immediately! We talked not just about photos, but about the emotional weight of planning something intimate when family dynamics are involved. She wanted her day to feel light and joyful, a celebration of love without pressure or perfectionism.
Backyard Wedding Ceremony in Hollywood
The ceremony took place in her cousin’s backyard, surrounded by vibrant California sun and laughter. Kadie wore a matte crepe halter gown from Jenny Yoo that was both romantic and modern, with a high slit and a chiffon bow detail at the back.
The details were thoughtful but never overdone. A curated charcuterie board from Lady and Larder, bottles of natural wine from Little Lands Wine, and a cake from Two Little Monkeys Bakery brought together the kind of gathering that feels like home. There was laughter around the pool, heartfelt toasts, and golden-hour portraits with Kadie and Frank that felt like stolen moments.
Wedding Receptin at Mother Wolf
For the reception, they moved to Mother Wolf in Hollywood, one of LA’s most iconic spots for Roman-inspired cuisine. The six-course menu was crafted around tradition and indulgence—pane, stuzzi e sfizi, handmade pizza, fresh pasta, fish, and of course, dessert. The atmosphere was cozy but chic, a perfect ending to the kind of day that proves big impact doesn’t require a big guest count.
As a Los Angeles wedding photographer, I’ve captured events of all shapes and sizes, but these intimate gatherings always hold a special place. With fewer guests, every emotion feels amplified, every detail feels personal, and the photos we create together tell a story that’s deeply yours. Thinking of planning a backyard wedding of your own? I’d love to help you document it in a way that feels effortless, relaxed, and beautifully you. Reach out to learn more about my packages!
