I love being able to be part of my client’s lives. From their engagement sessions to their wedding to other big life events! Jemima and Tom recently had their baby Dominique and wanted an at-home newborn session. I was so excited to be able to photograph their sweet baby girl and capture these moments. You might remember this couple from their beach wedding in Santa Monica!
I like to do a newborn session at home, for a few reasons! One of the biggest reasons is the comfort. Mom and baby will be more comfortable in their own surroundings! It also allows for the much-needed breaks. You can change, feed or clean your baby – in your own home. It also lets us shoot sweet moments cuddling on the bed, or on the couch.
Jemima and Tom wore neutral colors, which I always recommend for at-home sessions! This allows the focus to be on the newborn. It also lets you display the images all year round. A neutral color palette is easy to share throughout the house. The couple chose white, with a few blankets for Dominique. One had pandas, and the other the Union Jack!
