Christina has built her life around creating safe spaces for others. So it felt fitting that her own wedding carried that same feeling. She and Jacob were married at a family home in Los Angeles, surrounded by more than one hundred guests who clearly adore them. It was intimate in setting but expansive in emotion. You could feel the years in the air—their first meeting at camp, the time apart, and the reconnection that eventually brought them here.
Both are nursing students now, and Christina is also the founder of Transcending Adolescence, and Jacob is a registered nurse and the Assistant Director of Transcending Adolescence – an organization that creates affirming summer camps and retreats for transgender and gender-diverse youth. Community is not just something she talks about—it’s something she builds. And that same intention shaped their wedding day.
A Floral Story Woven Through Every Detail for this Backyard Wedding in Los Angeles
One of the most impressive parts of the day was the transition, executed flawlessly by Yvonne Wolf Events. In just 48 minutes, the ceremony space transformed into a nature-inspired reception while guests enjoyed cocktail hour inside the residence and along the front lawn.
Private Home Wedding Photography Across Los Angeles
Backyard weddings require flexibility. Lighting shifts quickly. Space evolves. Timelines move differently than they do in a ballroom. After photographing weddings like this for years, I’ve learned how to anticipate those transitions so nothing feels rushed or chaotic on camera. It allows the couple to stay present while everything flows around them. If you’re planning a Los Angeles wedding and want photography that feels natural, intentional, and beautifully documented, let’s connect. I’d love to hear what you’re dreaming up.
